RE: FREEDOM OF InmiURTION ACT REQUEST To Uhom It l',ay Concern:
t This is my request for a full disclosure of the following infomation pertaining to the shipments of 210 tons of spent fuel rods from the San Onofre Nuclcar Ibwer Plant in California, to the temporary storage facility in Forris, Illinois.
- 1) Infomation en routes being considered by Tri-State Carriers and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for these shipments. If the routes have not been definitely selected, I would like to know, in detail, those being considered.
Also, when a final decision is made, I would like to be personally notified and this infomation nado public as soon as possible.
- 2) Departure time and date of each shipment. If these trucks vill be conr?ng through Oklahona, the ETA in Oklahoma and ETA's at all citics in thir State.
- 3) An inspection schedule, including condition of vehicles to be used, along with a structural and naintenance history of each truck. Also, nny known potential problers relating to containment vessels on these vehicles.
h) Exact number of shipncnts expected, broken down into volume, content, com-position, and type of containers of cach shipment.
- 5) Since it is public knowledge that Tri-State Carrie3 has a very bad safety re-cord, I would like a current and detailed history of their accidents.
If, for any reason, another trucking fim or method of transportation is chosen, all this infornation should be applied to same.
- 6) Worker, and/cr public radiation exposure record of Tri-State Carriers.
- 7) Copics of any and/or all formal requests made by public officials of Oklahoma pertaining to these shipments.
This request is being nado pursuant to $ USC, Se. $$2.
c I am w,lling to pay any reasonable standard charge involved for actual search time and copying fees. However, since this disclosure is in the public interest, I respectfully ask waiver or reduction of fees.
See Sec. $$2 (a)(h)(A).
This infomation should be available to the public and not exempt under any lause of the Act.
People have every right to the knowledge of times and dates,. in order to be "cn alert" when this lethal material comes through their conmunities.
Flcase respond at the earliest possible time and if any portion of this request is denied, send me a detailed statement of all reasons for denial.
