Dear Congressman Lowry:
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has been engaged in the development of a more explicit policy for nuclear facility decommissioning.
In September 1978 it held a series of regional workshops to review with State officials the specifics of its plan. A following set of workshops will be held during the last two weeks in September.
Each Governor has been invited to designate representatives from his staff and appropriate State agencies.
Letters of invitation have also gone to the legislative leadership and public utility commission in each State.
This letter is to inform you that a regional workshop will be held at the Conference Center at Seattle Center, Seattle, WA on September 25-27, 1979.
A copp of the letter of invitation is enclosed.
