ENCLOSURE 1 REPLY TO NRC LETTER DATED JUNE 25, 1979 IN REFEREIiCE TO CCMBINED INSPECTION 50-317/79-0h; 50-318/79-04 ITE4 A - Corrective Action Current copies of applicable laboratory methods approved as required have been placed in the files of the Environmental Engineering Group as of July 6, 1979 ITE4 B - Corrective Action The R'4C laboratory method for Sr-89, Sr-90 analyses in fish bone has been modified to include larger sa=ple size and increased count ti=e. On this basis it is expected that beginning with the E.arples of fish taken after July 1, 1979 the required detection limits for Sr-89, Sr-90 vill be achieved.

ITE4 C - Corrective Action The offsite farms at locations 15 and 16 are owned and operated by independent far=ers, who alone determine what crops are available and when they are harvested.

BG&E has instructed its personnel to improve liaison with these far=ers to ensure that the required sa=ples are obtained at harvest time.
