Dear Mr. Denton:
Duke Power Company is filing herewith Amendment No. 62 to its Application for Licenses for the McGuire Nuclear Station which is under contruction pursuant to Construction Permits CPPR-83 and -84.
This filing includes three signed original copies of the amendment with an attachment entitled, " Revision 38 to the Final Safety Analysis Report." This filing also includes 15 additional conformed copies of the amendment with an additional 45 copies of Revision 38 to the Final Safety Analysis Report.
The purpose of Amendment 62 is to revise the FSAR to include responses to requests for additional information contained in Mr. Robert L. Baer's letter of August 3, 1979 Revision 38 to the FSAR also contains the following:
1.
Revised Chapter 15 analyses to reflect increased flow to the upper head region of the reactor vessel, change in ejected rod worth and updated auxiliary feedwater flow distribution.
2.
Revised cask drop analysis in Chapter 9 3
Analysis of a weir gate drop into the spent fuel pool.
Also included are other miscellaneous revisions to the FSAR.
