Gentlemen:
This office has received a copy of your January 3,1979 request filed with the Office of fluclear Reactor Regulaticn (OflRR) for review and approval.
The request is for approval of your proposed changes to certain Environmental Commitments for Phipps Bend fluclear Plant Unit fios.1 and 2 under Construction Permit flos. CPPR-162 and CPPR-163.
Your request was not accompanied by approval /cmendment fees as prescribed by Section 170.22 of 10 CFR Part 170.
Sectien 170.12(c) requires that you provide a proposed determination of the approval or amendment class, state the basis therefor, and submit the fee', with your request.
Based on guidance from the Of!RR staff as a result of their review of your request, we have determined that your submittal of January 3,1979 falls in fee Classes II and I because the request is administrative in nature and pertains to both units.
Therefore, it is requested that fees totalling
$1,600 be fonvarded to this office.
If, after ONRR staff completes its evaluation of your request, it is determined that it was incorrectly categorized, you will be refunded any overpayment or billed for any additional amount due.
