J. Dixon-Herrity Summary of Meeting:

On September 5, 2019, staff from the NRC conducted a public meeting with representatives from SNC to obtain clarification on LAR 19-003 regarding the addition of IRWST to the radiation analyses. The NRC requested further clarification on the four documented discussion topics. A summary of SNC responses are below:

1. SNC clarified the minimum IRWST water volume is 73,100 ft3 and the maximum water level is approximately 4,500 ft3 higher than the minimum value. The difference in volume between the minimum level and the maximum level is the assumed volume of the vapor space source term. SNC will evaluate if this can be clarified in a potential supplement to the LAR.
2. SNC clarified that halogens were evaluated and found to be negligible with regards to the vapor space source term. SNC will evaluate if this can be clarified in a potential supplement to the LAR.
3. SNC identified a typographical error in the liquid and vapor space source term units.

SNC indicated they intend to supplement the LAR to correct the units from µCi/gram to

µCi/cm3.

4. SNC discussed their method for determining the liquid source term for Cesium in a design basis accident. The NRC will review their independent calculation to determine if the Cesium liquid source term is comparable to the value identified in the LAR.

At the conclusion of this meeting, there was an opportunity for the public to provide comments and ask questions. There were no comments or questions from the public.

The meeting adjourned at approximately 11:30 a.m.
