We have reviewed your letter dated December H,1980 in which you Hscussed items which we brcught to your attettion in our letter dated Novaber 20, 1980.
Ycur December 9,1980 letter was not acceptable, as discussed in a telephone conversatiori on January 19, 1981 between you and Ms. B. Riedlinger of our staff.
We are returning your letter so you may comment on the itens described below.
1.
Monthly thyroid and urine counts should also be performed on technical personnel, such as the assistant radiophart acist, as well as on the radiopharmacist.
2.
Your letter did not address the specific comitments listed in Appendix B of our letter.
You should coment on these items as requested in the November 20, 1980 letter.
3.
It should be noted that when Type A quantities of radiocharmaceuticals are shipped in the metal camera case, 49 CFR 17? 393(b) requires that the case be equipped with a tdmper indicating seal.
tu are to re-submit a corrected response to cur t'ovember 20, 1980 letter which fulfills the requirements stipulated in this letter.
We havo adopted a new NRC enforcement policy, as described in the Federal Register Notice (45 FR 66754) dated October 7,1980. With the adoption of that policy we ne requiring, under the authority c' Section 182 of tb Atomic Energy Act of liS4, as amended, that responses to Notices of Violations be submitted under oath or affirmation. Therefore, the last paragraph of your letter should include a statement equivalent to the following:
