SEP 1107c Appendix A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Consumer Power Company Docket No. 50-329 Docket No. 50-330 Based on the inspection conducted on August 21-23, 1979, it appears that c'ertain of your activities were not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements as noted below. This item is an infraction.
10 CFR 50 Appendix B, Criterion XIII requires, in part, to establish measures to control the handling, storage cleaning and preservation of material and equipment in accordance with work and inspection instructions to pr' ent damage or deterioration.
CPC0 procedure FPG-7.000 Revision 0, dated July 1, 1977, Paragraph 7.g established controls tc protect material and equipment from activities such as welding.
Contrary to the above, on August 21 and 22, 1979, the inspectors accom-panied by licensee representatives observed welding activities in progress at elevation 614' in the auxiliary building, above installed 480V and 4.16KV switchgear with inadequate protection to prevent weld spatter from falling on installed equipment and cables.
