August 20, 1979 Docket Nos. 50-277/278 Mr'. Edward G. Bauer, Jr., Esquire Vice President and General Counsel Philadelphia Electric Company' 2301 Market Street Phil adelphia, Pennsylvania 19101

Dear Mr. Bauer:

We are in the process of reviewing our projected work load with the intent of updating the licensing backlog.

In order to more efficiently utilize our limited resources, we are attempting to identify those action items which have become obsolete; i.e., either the need for the action has passed, or circunstances now exist which do not warrant the expenditure of resources necessary to accomplish the action.

The attachment to this letter provides a listing from our records of licensing activities which were initiated by you and have not been completed. We would appreciate your assistance in identifying those items which are no longer required and can be deleted. We would consider a formal request to withdraw any application that is determined to be obsolete.

The priority we assign these activities is determined primarily by public safety considerations. However, so that we may give proper consideration to your needs, it would be helpful if you assign a priority to the remainder of the items according to their importance to you.

Also, if the attachment does not contain certain licensing actions you have requested, please identify these by reference or provide copies of your original request.

We would appreciate having the list marked up and returned within 30 days of your receipt of this letter. You may contact your D0R project manager if you have any questions or need further discussion.

Your assistance in this regard is appreciated.

Sincerely, Q

L' A
