Dear Mr. Mathews:
By letter dated March 9, 1977, we asked you to determine if the Radiation Protection Manager (RPM) at your Kewaunee Plant meets the minimum qualifica-tions of Regulatory Guide (R.G.) 1.8, September 1975, and if so, propose an appropriate Technical Specification.
In your response, dated August 15, 1977, you objected to complying with R.G.1.5 primarily because it required a bachelor's degree or eduivalent in a science or engineering subject.
In our letter o# November 10, 1977, we clarified this issue by providing our definition of " equivalent" in the context of R.G. 1.8.
By letter of January 20, 1978, you committed to the qualification objectives of R.G.1.8 as clarified by our November 10, 1977 letter, for the position of the Health Physics Supervisor at the Kewaunee Plant.
Therefore, in accordance with our original letter of March 9, 1977, we request that you propose a Technical Specification within sixty (60) days of receipt of this letter which states "the Health Physics Supervisor shall meet or exceed the qualifications of Regulatory Guide 1.8, September 1975."
