IE BULLETIN 79-07 In a letter dated April 25, 1979 you reported that SHOCK II, a Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation computer code which incorporated algebraic summation in seismic analysis, was used in the analysis of four s;rcty-related piping lines at Point Beach.
These four lines included two 8-inch service water lines associated with radioactive waste systems and two 6-inch component cooling water lines.
In a subsequent letter dated May 2,1979, as supplemented July 18,1979, you stated that these four lines have been taanalyzed using a verified version of the NUPIPE computer code and that all pipe stresses, support loads and constraint loads are within code acceptable limits as specified in the Point Beach FFDSAR.
We have reviewed these responses and find that the reanalysis of the lines affected by IE Bulletin No. 79-07 has been performed with an acceptable computer program which does not use algebraic summation and that the results of this reanalysis are acceptable.
