Gentlemen:

Subject: Combined Inspection 50-289/79-09 and 50-320/79-08

This refers to the verificatiori tests performed during an inspection

conducted by Mr. J. J. Kottan of this office on July 19-21,1978 at the

Three Mile Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2 of activities authorized by

NRC License Nos. DPR-50 and DPR-73.

The results of that inspection are

contained in our letter dated August 11, 1978 which includes Office of

Inspection and Enforcement Inspection Report Nos. 50-289/78-15 and 50-

320/78-25.

The results of certain verification tests made at tra time of that

inspection are included in the Office of Inspection and Enforcement

Report whicn is enclosed with this letter. Other aspects of the inspec-

tion were previously discussed in the above referenced correspondence.

Within the scope of this inspection, no items of noncompliance were

observed.

In accordance with Sect.Jn 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Fart

2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the

enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC's Public Occument

Room.

If this report contains any information that ycu (or your centractor)

believe to be proprietary, it is necessary that you make a written

apolication within 20 days to this office to withhold such infomation

from public disclosure. Any such application must be accompanied by an

affidavit executed by the owner of the information, which identifies the

document or part sought to be withheld, and whicn cont' ins a statement

of reasons which adcresses with specificity the items wnich will be

considered by the Commission as listed in subparagraph (b) (J) of Section

2.790.

The information sougnt to be withheld shall be incorporated as

far as possible into a separate cart of the affidavit.

If we do not

hear from you in this regard within the specified period, the report

will be placed in the Public Cocument Rocm.
