The organizational changes have been implemented because of the increased emphasis placed on nuclear power in our Company and the industry and to recognize the _dded impact of all major generating plants and integrated system operations on the overall success of the Cutpany.
As of July 11, 1979, the Production and Transtission Department, as related to nuclear plant operations, has been cha ged to be called Nuclear Operations.
Thus in CPC-1A, all uses of Production and Transmission (P&T) should be changed to Nuclear Operations (NO).
Nuclear Operations now is headed by a Vice-President solely concerned with nuclear povered electric generation facilities.
Wherever the tern Plant Superintendent is used, it should be changed to
" General Manager / Plant Superintendent".
Several Departments fornerly reporting to the Vice-President, I roduction &
Transmission now report to the Vice-Presidents Nuclear and Fossil Operations.
However, the functions of these departments within the scope of the Quality Assurance Program for Cperations have not changed as of this time, and the cornittent to adhere to progran requirements has not been diluted.
Revised draft organization charts reflecting these changes are attached, and vill beccme part of Policy 1, (see attachenents A and B).
These changes vill be made to the text of CPC-1A, and submitted to NRC by Cetober 15, 1979 for information. This letter constitutes submittal of notice of organizational change within thirty (30) days as required by Policy 6, and further connits to subnittal of revised pages.
