Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Ms. C. Abigail Evans and Mr.
R. A. Caldwell of this office on June 12-13, 1979, of activities authorized
by NRC Operating License No. R-102 for the University of New Mexico ACN-20lM
Reactor Facility, and discussions of the U.ndings with you at the conclusion of
the inspection.
The area examined during this inspection was your program for protecting against
industrial sabotage and safeguarding special nuclear material pursuant
to applicable provisions of 10 CFR 50, " Licensing of Production and Utilization
Facilities"; " Protection of Plants and Materials"; and specific requiremen*s
of NRC License No. R '02.
Within this area the inspection consisted of selective
examinations by the inspectors and review of the Physical Security Plan for the
University of New Mexico AGh-201M Reactor Facility.
Within the scope of this inspections no items of noncompliances or deviations
were ideatified.
In accordance with Section 2.790(d) of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, documentatlan of findingr of your control
and accounting procedures for safeguarding special nuclear materials and your
facility security prccedures are exenpt from disclosure; therefore, the inspection
report will not be placed in -he Public Document Room and will received limited
distribution.
