NRC STAFF'S RESPONSE TO MOTION SEEKING EXTENSION OF TIME WITHIN WHICH TO FILE COMMENTS TO DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT On May 16,1979, the California Public Utility Commission (PUC) filed a request for an extension of time in which to supply its comments to the Staff's Draft Environmental Statement in the captioned proceeding.
Requests for such extensjons of time should properly be directed to the Director of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and not to this Board.
In this regard, the Staff notes that the PUC's sister agency, the California Energy Resources and Development Commission, was recently provided an extension of time until June 26, 1979, in which to file its coments with respect to the DES. The undersigned is authorized to state that the same extension of time will be provided to the PUC.
Respectfully submitted, q
