JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

OF OPERATIONS JULY, 1979 In July, 1979, the Unit Cycle I-II refueling outage continued to perform inspection and repair of anchor bolts.

The following significant safety-related maintenance was perfcrmed in July:

1.

PCN 78-078, Auto isolation of S/G blowdown on Auxiliary Feedwater start, was completed.

2.

PCN 78-217 and PCN 79-218, Power to seismic detectors at the River Water and Service Water structures, were completed.

3.

Shaft bearings were placed on the screen wash pump at the River Water structure.

4.

The following work was performed on the Diesel Generator Air Start Air Compressors:

a.

Bearings were renewed for D/G 2C, compressor

'A' motor.

b.

New diaphragm was installed for D/G 1B, compressor

'A' unloader.

c.

Cleaned the head and valves for D/G 1B, compressor

'B'.

d.

Renewed the valves for D/G 1-2A, compressor

'A'.

5.

The Chemical Drain Tank pump mechanical seal was replaced twice.

6.

Installed hydraulic snubbers following in shop functional testing.
