Dear Mr. Ippolito:

In the Matter of the ) Docket Nos. 50-259 Tennessee Valley Authority ) 50-260 50-296 This is in response to your letter to H. G. Parris dated July 12, 1979, concerning environmental qualification of stem-mounted limit switches ins *.alled on main steam isolation valves (MSIV's). Since your staff has not presented any economically feasible course of action to take regarding these limit switches, we now plan to replace the unqualified limit switches on the inboard MSIV's with qualified limit switches.

This replacement program is scheduled for the next refueling outage of each respective unit.

Very truly yours, TENNESSEE VAT. LEY AUTHORITY s / .l
