~ aank you for your letter dated June 21, 1979, informing us of the steps
you have taken to correct the noncompliance identified in our letter
dated May 16, 1979. Regarding item 2 ve want to remind you that while
Inspection Procedure 22A4387, Revision 4 was prepared and approved by the
General Electric Company, final responsibility rests with CG&E to ensure
the procedures used are clearly written and meet the requirements of
10 CFR 50, Appendix B, Criterion V.
Our position remains that the proce-
dure and FDDR used to inspect the control rods did not clearly indicate
what was to be done. We expect your audits of existing General Electric
procedures will be comprehensive enough to prevent future use of inadequate
procedures. We will examine your corrective action during a future inspection.
