Dear Senator Byrd:
By note dated December 7,1978, you forwarded a copy of 2 letter from Mrs. P. M. Allen to the Nuclear Regul. tory Cornission, dated November 1, 1978.
Mrs. Allen's letter had requested the Conrission to revoke the Virginia Electric and Power Company's licenses to oper ate North Anr. Units No. 1 and 2.
By letter dated December 27, 1978, I responded to your note providing informa ; ion on NRC actions as of that date, and providing further information.
The ir 'stigation into the merits of fire,. Allen's request has been cc:npleted and a eport has been prepared.
Based on the content of that report, a deci-sion nas been reached that the request should be denied.
A copy of the Decision including the supportir.g report, and of the letter advising Mrs. Allen of the cecision are enclosed for your information.
