Dear Members of the Board:

Technical and legal representatives of the Applicant, the NRC Staff, and Suffolk County (SC) are engaged in a con-tinuing series of meetings in order to facilitate informal discovery by SC, as well as to resolve or particularine SC's contentions.

These parties intend to use the meetings to produce a series of stipulations regarding SC's contenti.cas.

The first of these stipulations, dated June 5,

1979, recuests that the Board accept the parties agreements (a)' that ~aelve SC contentions will not be oursued any further in this proceeding and (b) that the Applied.: will meet cer-tain conditicas.

At the request of the parties, this stipula-tion is forwarded to the Board for its consideration.
