Region II, Suite 3100 RII: JP0 101 Marietta Street 50-321 Atlanta, GA 30303 50-366 Attn:
Mr. James P. O'Reilly Gentlemen:
The following is submitted in response to your letter dated March 19, 1979 concerning I.E.Bulletin 78-12, with supplements78-12A and 78-12B.
Georgia Power Company cannot meet the May 29, 1979 schedule outlined in your March transmittal because of the inability of Combustion Engineering (the Reactor Vessel manufacturer) to file their generic report.
Our understanding is that Combusiton Engineering has arranged for another revision to the schedule for providing a generic response due to the NRC by June 8, 1979 with the utility response due to the h7C by June 29, 1979.
Georgia Power Company requests an extension to June 29, 1979 for responding to this I.E. Bulletin.
