Docket No. 50-367

Dear Mr. Ballard:

Enclosed are twenty-five (25) copies of the Fifth Annual Ecological Reports for Eailly Generating Station, Nuclear-1.

The Fifth Annual Report covers ecological monitoring pro-gram activities conducted in connection with Eailly Nuclear-1 frca April,1978 through March,1979 This document reports all data, as well as the anal: :is of the data, collected from April, 1978 through March, 1979 in both the areas of terrestrial and aquatic =cnitoring efforts. Activities in the area of terrestrial monitoring included field surveys and analysis for foliar effects, a vegetation survey, taccal and bird observations, roadside surveys (ra =als and birds), reptile and amphibian survey, invertebrate surveys, and soil sample analysis. The terres-trial analysis characterizes trends inherent in the ter-restrial ccttunity. These results were as expected and indicate continuity with previcus sampling results.

Aquatic scnitoring included sampling and analyses for phy*o-

plankten, ceplank cn, benthos, racrophytes, fisheries, water quality and sediment particulate size samples. Result s of aquatic sampling shewed no effects en the aquatic ccccu-nity which could be attributed to activities connected with Eailly Generating Station, Nuclear-1.

In sun =ary, there continues to be no discernible effects to the envircnnent due to the construction of Eailly Nuclear-1.

Very truly ycurs, q
