Steam Generator Feedvater Piping This letter provides responses to the remaining items from Reference (b) concerning the steam generator feedwater piping at Yankee Nuclear Power Station.

1.

No recor '_ of any post veld NDE are available.

2.

The feedwater piping was fabricated in accordance with ANSI B31.1-1955, Pcuer Piping.

3.

No fracture toughness requirements were specified.

4.

No preservice examinations were performed on this piping since the plant commenced operation prior to the issuance of Section XI.

5.

No in-service inspection has yet been performed on the f eedwater piping in the area of the feedwater nozzles.

6.

The feedwater piping at the steam generator nozzles for tvo steam generators will be included in the inspection effort for the 1980 refueling at Yankee Nuclear Power Station.

7.

Reference (c) previously provided information on waterhammers in feedwater piping at Yankee Nuclear Power Station.

8.

Feedwater chemistry control at Yankee Rowe is via the AVT method.

Hydrazine is fed continuously to the condensate water in concentrations slightly greater than the measured dissolved oxygen concentration of about 20 ppb.
