=pg.g 5 75 At the request of IE Headquarters I witnessed the neasurement of fuel shipping

Ei-cask NAC-1B on April 25, 1979. This inspection included activities as follows

Reviewed the measure =ent procedure.

Verified that procedure was followed.

Observed calibration check of dial gauges with micrometer reading 11 for a reference distance.

Observed installation of ceasurement equipment.

Observed that data was recorded at six inch incre=ent.s from top to bottom of cask.

Observed recheck of four positions.

Verified that a second person was positioned to confir= gauge 5j readings of the first data reader.

Personally' read three dial gauges while gauges were at the bottom M5 position in the cask (longest reading distance) to verify that

Review of measurement data subsequent to the testing indicated that the first

=easurement for the 102.5 inch position aid not agree with the recheck data.

The licensee discussed this point with NAC and said that the 102.5 inch recheck EZ5 positica was erroneously recorded. The actual position rechecked was 72.5 Ef-f inches. Data at 72.5 inch position appear consistent.
