DAILY DIGEST FOR WEDNESDAY, MAY 30, 1979 1.
Millstone-2 and Conn-Yankee is sending in a request to use a second operator for AFW initiation and cori, rol (in ev'ent of need) seemingly in same manner.
Varga and Reid should act; seems reasonable, but need Millstone-2 IE resident to audit and report back.
2.
P. O'Reilly is distributing a proprietary report on stuck-open PORV event.
If you have need, and dion't get copy, see him.
3.
ANO-1 SER is (hopefully) to be finished today. Site visit to SMUD is Thursday-Saturday this week, with SER next week. Site visit to Davis-Besse 1 is early next week, with SER late next week. Will start Crystal P.iver when through at SMUD.
4.
Meeting today with W utilities on process of dealing with them for the next few monthn. CE meeting to follow next week, and GE late June.
5.
Meeting with ACRS ATS subcommittee Thursday a1 Friday.
6.
Oconee 3 wants to restart about June 9.
We need to do at least a study to conclude that recent addition of 2 electric AFW pumps there is not detrimental; we don't have now staff to review in partial completion of long-tem order.
Also, we need to study 3-unit test, as it will need some papenvork for short-tem order.
7.
Novak needs to add to short term list this question:
On B&W, a feedwater transient autostarts AFW pump; admission valve to OTSG remains closed until level boils down to 20" level; then level control on ICS opens flow-control valve. Question: How do we know that AFW pump does not overheat for this time that pumo is on but not flowing?
