ORDER The Comission has begun a wide-ranging investigation into all aspects of the Three Mile Island accident.

This investigation will be one of the major vehicles by which the Cornission will seek to uncever the causes of that acci-dent and te prevent similar accidents.

In order to assure the effectiveness of the investigation it is essential that the investigators have acc=" to every r,

potential source of data that may be relevant to their weri:, and it is' equally essential that these potential sources be retained until such time as the investigators can decide what lines of inquiry to follcw and what data they need.

Accordingly, under the authority of sections 161(.c) and 161(o) of the Atemic En'ergy Act, 42 USC 2201(c) and (o), the Comission hereby orders the preservation of such records.

Until further order all records that may be related to the accident at Three Mile Island, or to understanding of all events incident thereto, shall be preserved intact by persons in possession of such recceds including, but not limited to Metropolitan Edin ua, any (the licensee),

General Public Utilities (its holding company), Babcock & Wilcox CMnv / he t

reactor vendor) and their consultants, agents and employees.
