UNIT #2 EMERGENCY PROCEDURE 2202-1.2 APR P 3 s79 UNANTICIPATED CRITICALITY 1.0 SYMPTOMS l.1 Unanticipated increase in count rate.
1.2 Acutation of control rod out motion inhibit alarms (intermediate range set at 3 C;M, resets at 0.5 DPM; source range set at 2 DPM, resets at 0.5 DPM).
2.0 IMMEDIATE ACTION 2.1 Automatic Action.
a.
Withdrawal of control rods stop (only if alarm actuated).
2.2 Manual Action.
a.
Immediately start insertion of control rods.
b.
Monitor count rate until shutdown by 1% ak/k.
c.
Trip the reactor, if necessary.
d.
Ensure there is no dilution flow into the Reactor Coolant System.
3.0 FOLLOW-UP ACTION 3.1 The Shutdown Margin shall be >l% ik/k.
(T.S. 3.1.1.1) Emergency Borate if necessary per 2203-1.1.
3.2 Determine cause for unanticipated criticality.
