SUBJECT:

IE SHIFT ORGANIZATICN It is necessary that steps be taken to improve coordination of the activities of IE reactor operations personnel and IE health p'iysii_s personnel on shif t as well as improve coordination of IE activities and NRR activities during the remainder of the TMI Recovery Phase.

In order to achieve these

' mprovements, the organi::ational arrangements for shift activities described i

below are to become effective immediately.

The IE Reactor Operations Section Chief on shif t is designated as the IE Shif t Supervisor.

2.

The IE Shif t Supervisor will report to the Senior NRC Operations representative en shift (V. Stello, D. Vollmer, J. Keppler).

3.

The IE Shift Supervisor is responsible for ccorslinating all IE activities on shif t and for coordination of IE activities with NRR activi"-ies.

The technical direction of all IE health physics activities will continue to be ander the supervision of George Smith. He will centinue to be assisted by A. Gibson in the area of in plant health p 'vsics and P. Stohr in the area of envircnmental surveys and analysis.

l I will continue to provide the overall direction for all IE or urations at the THI site.

Attached is a current listing of the shif t assignment for IE technical personnel. The number of personnel on shift will continue to be reduced as rapidly as operations permit.
