This responds to your letter of April 6,1979, in which you documented your earlier suggestion concerning the use of oxygen to reduce the hydrogen bubble in the Three Mile Island, Unit 2, reactor.

You also state you should receive monetary recognition for your suggestion.

I appreciate your interest and concern and, indeed, your suggestion.

Mcwever, the problems we faced at Three Mile Island were considerably more complex than could be addressed with ycur suggestion. Your suggestion to introduce additional oxygen into the reactor system could have adversely affected plant safety a:,d was not an appropriate course of action.
