PETITION TO SUSPE::D CPERATING LICENSE FOR EACH PRESSURIZED WATER REACTOR In a petition dated March 29, 1979, William A. Lochstet en behalf of the Envircrmental Coaliticn cn "uclear Power requested that the Ccm-missicn imrediately suspend the operating license for each pressurized water reactor.
The petiticn alleges that the safety evaluations per-formed for these licenses are invalid in light of the recent accident at Three Mile Island Unit 2.
This office will work with your staff to develop an appropriate response to this request under the prccedures specified in 10 CFR 2.206.
Please send a copy of all correspondence related to this matter to this office.

DRAFT UNITED STATES OF ?:' ERICA NUCLEAR REGULATCRY CC: 4ISSICN FETITICN TO I:44EDIATELY SUSPEND ALL CPERATI"G LICENSES FOR PRESSURIZED UATER REACTCRS RECUEST FOR ACTION PURSUANT TO 10 CFR 2.2C6 Notice is hereby given that by petition dated '< arch 29, 1979, the Environmental Coaliticn on Nuclear Pcwer, State College, Pennsylvania, requested that the Ccr..missicn immediately suspend all operating licenses issued to pressurized water reactors.
The peti-tion alleges that the safety evaluations performed for these licenses are invalid, because the incident which occurred on March 28, 1979, at Three Mile Island Unit 2, a pressurized water reactor, shows that the evaluations of the Emergency Core Cooling System (ECCS) for all pressurized water reactors cannot dencnstrate the performance of the ECCS required by 10 CFR 50.46.
The petition is being treated pursuant to the prccedures specified in 10 CFR 2.206 of the Ccanissicn's regulations, and accordingly, action will be taken on the petition within a reascnable time.
A copy of the petiticn is available for inspection in the Commission's Public Cocument Rccm,1717 H Street, N.W., 'Jashington, D.C. 20555.
