Robert C. Arnold GPU Operations Manager FROM:

Roger J. Mattsco, Director, 055 5UBJECT:

ACCEPTA8111 TY OF $YSTEM CRITERIA FOR USE OF STEAM GENERATORS FOR SHORT AND LONG TERM C001.00VN The NRC Technical Review Croup has reviewed the system criteria for use of the steam generators in a water solid condition for short and long tern cooldown (Rev.

I, 1-10-79) 4 as presented by GPUSC.

(Hemo f rom C.

R. Capodanno to W.

R. Cobean 4/10/79 # 1900 hrs).

This docu., ant i nc. l ude s enod i f i ca t i ons proposed by the group as a result of AprII 9th and 10t h anee t i ngs.

We find the design criteria acceptabig documented pending inclus ion and review of et cer.rical as criteria, with one exception.

That is the design flow rate of 3000 ppm for the A and B modifications doas not reflect design margin compared to the minimum flow requiree nts recocinended by B&W in its presentation to Hated on AprII 11 This point needs early resolution.

Final design and any additional substantive changes to the criteria should be transrsitted to us fo r cormwsn t s.
