INTLAMAh OmG AM t2.AT)ONS April 6, 1979 Honorable Joseph M. Hendrie Chairtaa U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission 1717 H.
- Street, N.W.
Washington, D.C.

Dear Chairman Hendrie:
I would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm my s to you on March 29, 1979 during the hearings before the Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment of the House Interior and Insular Affairs Committee.
I, and my co'nstituents, need adequate reassurances from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission that we will continue to receive accurate and straight forward reports on the situation at Three Mile Island Unit 2.
I want to maka it cicar that I am very interested in the incident itself, the events preceding-it, and the handling of the situation thereafter.
In addition to closely monitoring the situation at Unit 2, I would li e to again request a careful inspection of Unit 1, as well as of the Peach Bottom Nuclear Power Plant.
I think that the people of this area deserve a very special consideration in view of recent events, and I would hope that the Commission would act expeditiously to allay their fears and concerns.
Thank you for your consideration of the above comments and I look forward to hearing-from you in the near future.
With best wishes, I am Sincerely, BILL GOODLING Member of Congress BG:gp 790424 0 57 t/
