Dear Congressman Goodling:
Chairnan Hendrie is in the hospital for several days and unable to respond personally to your letter of April 6, 1979.
He asked that I acknowledge receipt of your letter to the Comission and in particular, that I reaffirm his own commitnent to you of i:arcn 29 to keep you fully and currently informed with respect to Three liile Island.
In an effort to meet this commitment, our office has been providing you with the daily preliminary notifications on the status of Three Mile Island which are received by the Commission.
In addition, we have recently provided you with the trar, scripts of closed meetings held by the Comission on T!:I through April 4.
We will continue to provide updates to you as soon as they are available to us.
Your request for careful inspection of both Unit 1 and the Peach Bottom nuclear power plant has been passed on to our Office of Inspection and Enforcement for appropriate action.
