Washburn, LWR 2-2 Tnis letter is in regard to the establishment of a schecule for environmental review of your application for an operating license for Tarce Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 2 (Ti!I-2) Iccated near Harrisburg in Daupnin County, Pennsylvania. We have evaluated our workload, and based on this evaluation ne estimate the Prospective Decision Date to be July 1,1977. A sutmary of the more important environcental milestones is provided as an enclosure for your infor-mation and review, based on infoaation available at this time. It should be realized that the enclosed dates are target ailestones which may require some changes as the review process proceeds.
While we will not femally infom you (by letter) of minor changes to the schedule, we will confirm, in writing, significant changes to tne senedule.
Many of the milestones of the staff review require specific input, preparation, or participation frc:a you, such as responses to cuestions, site visits, and responses to public and agency cc::ments. For this reason, we believe that you should critically review the dates associated with these important milestones and advise us as to whether ycu believe the dates are realistic or should be adjusted.
After you have reviewed these milestones and associated dates, I suggest tnat a representative of your corporate organization tele;: hone Mr. Jan Morris, the Environmental Project Manager for the TMI-2 review, to discuss the schedule. This discussion should be scheduled someti:ne within the next two weeks.
