Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
The Cmaha Public Power District received the Comission's letter of November 9,1979, requesting that a review be concucted to ensure that new fuel cladding strain and fuel assembly flow blockage medels, used in the Fort Calhoun Station ECCS calculations, are conservative with respect to the Staff's new models.
This letter is to inform you that the District's fuel vendor, Exxon Nuclear Co., Inc., is currently preparing a large break LOCA analysis, in support of Fort Calhoun Station Cycle 5 operation, which employes the Staff's recomendations contained in your letter. This analysis will be submitted to the Comission for review in January,1980.
Cycle 6 operation is scheduled to commence in mid-March,1980, af ter our 1980 refueling outage.
It is believed that the Staff's review of our analysis will resolve the flow blockage issue for the Fort Calhoun Station.
Sincerely, W. C. Jones Division Manager Production Coerations WCJ/KJM/sJH/1p d'
