SUBJECT:
TASK ACTION PLAN A PIPE CRACKS IN BOILING WATER REACTORS Enclosed is our proposed Task Action Plan A-42 " Pipe Cracks in Boiling Water Reactors" for your approval toward forwarding it to Technical Activities Steering Committee.
The Subtask C-1, " Revision of NUREG-0313" is expected to be completed by Mid-August this year.
The Subtask C-2, " Staff Recommenda-tion of Follow-on Efforts to Reduce the Potential for IGSCC in BWR Piping" is also expected to be completed this year.
However, the technical activities of the follow-on efforts are long-te:m and therefore are not expected to be completed within the time frame specified for TAP A-42.
For your convenience, we have also enclosed a transmittal memorandum for forwarding the approved TAP to the Technical Activities Steering Committee.
