Areas Inspected:
Shipping and Receiving and Physical Inventory.
The inspection involved 244 inspector hours onsite by four NRC inspectors and was begun during the regular hours.
Results:
The licensee was found to be in compliance with NRC requirements in the two areas examined during the inspection except for the following two items:
1)
Boxes containing encapsulated items which were not secured by tamper-safe methods did not include verification of the serial numbers.
(Infraction).
- 2) Approximately 9 percent of the sectioned element items in the scrap storage area (MBA-3) were found to have errors in the stated 1632 245 uranium inventory values.
This will be reviewed again when the licensee completes reconciliation of the inventory. (Unresolved).
