Lessons Learned Short-Term Requirements This letter is intended to clarify our letter of December 7, 1979.
The following information is intended to facilitate your understanding of our letters, R'eferences (b) and (c).
Reference (b) addressed the contents and commitments required by the Darry11 Eisenhut letter of September 13th, Reference (d), portions of the Harold Denton letter of October 30th, Referer.ce (e), and subsequent staff telephone calls providing additional clarifications.
We have since completed our tormal review of Reference (e).
With the exception of those items identified in Enclosure 1 and Reference (c), we commit to the full requirement and schedules detailed in References (d) and (e). describes those items having difficulties with equipment procurement, and provides schedules for implementing those items.
We have scheduled a shutdown commencing January 19, 1980 to make electrical connections for the diverse containment isolation commitment and to ins tall the subcooling meter.
The timing of this shutdown will also coincide with a commitment to install voltage regulators which is expected to take two wee ks.

s' ENCLOSURE 1 Abbreviated Item Title Descriptien 2.1.4 Diverse Containment (a)
The diverse containment isolation Isolation will be installed by 1/1/80, but will not be functional. The necessary electrical connections will be made during the January 19, 1980 shutdown.
(b)
The safety grade relays and cable for the reset function will not be available by 1/1/80. Our attempts to procure this equipment to date have produced at best a May delivery date.
It is our intention that this equipment be installed during the 1980 refueling outage.
2.1.8c Improved Iodine The SAM-II dual channel analyzer will be Instrumentation delivered by mid-January.
2.1.3b Subcooling Meter (a)
A safety grade pressure transmitter has been ordered and delivery is expected in April 1980.
It is our intention to install this redundant pressure measurement during the 1980 refueling outage.
(b)
Delivery of the subcooling meter is expected the first week of January due to a factory shutdown over the holidays. This equipment will be installed during the January 19, 1980 shutdown.
Ln sc) 2.1.7b Auxiliary Feedwater The flow measuring elements are expected to be N4) delivered January 4, 1980 and will be installed during the January 19, 1980 shutdown.
