Dear Mr. Grier:

Subject:

Forked River Nuclear Station Docket Number 50-363 Response to IE Bulletin 79-24 Your letter dated September 27, 1979 requested a review of the design for the subject facility to determine that ade-quate protective measures have been taken to assure that safety related process, instrument and sampling lines do not freeze during extremely cold weather. It has been determined that the design for the heat tracing and freeze protection system has not been completed to date. We will ensure the concerns contained in the subject IE Bulletin are addressed during the completion of these designs.

Please contact me if you have any questions concerning the above.

Very truly yours, Ivan R. Fin ock, Jr.
