U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555 In the Matter of Virginia Electric and Power Company North Anna Power Station, Units 1 and 2 Doc. Nos. 50-338 OL and 50-339 OL Gentlemen:

Vepco has asked me to inform you of some errors that have been discovered in certain pipe stress analyses for North Anna Units 1 and 2. An investigation still in progress has shown that some of the pipe stress analyses of safety related systems in certain buildings other than the containment, including the Service Water Pumphouse, used incorrect seismic inputs, which in some cases yielded nonconservative calculations of pipe stresses.

I'm told that the analyses in question deal only with some piping located inside the Service Water Pumphouse

Therefore, Vepco be-lieves that this new information is not relevant to the issue of pumphouse settlement over which you have retained jurisdiction in the operating license proceeding. Never-theless, I pass this on for your information, and Vepco will be happy to sup ly further details if you wish. The NRC Staff has alread been informed.
