OCT 3119B DOCKET NO. 50-312 Sacramento Municipal Utility District ATTN: Mr. J. J. Mattimoe Assistant General Manager and Chief Engineer 6201 S Street - Box 15830 Sacramento, California 95813 Gentlemen:
This office has received a copy of your October 3,1979 application for amendment to Facility I.icense No. DPR-54 which you filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (ONRR) for review and approval. The application is identified as Proposed Amendment No. 65 and relates to Technical Specification revisions to assure operation of the Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 1, Cycle 4 core within applicable fuel design and performance criteria. A fee of $4,000 for a Class III amend-ment was forwarded with your letter dated October 12, 1979, for the above application.
Based on guidance from the ONRR staff as a result of their preliminary review of your application, it has been determined that the requested action falls under Class IV which requires an amendment fee of $12,300 because it involves a complex safety issue.
It is requested, therefore, that you forward an additional fee of 38,300 promptly to this office.
If the final review of your application by the UNRR staff reveals that this fee determination is incorrect, you will be refunded any overpayment or billed for any additional amount due.
Sincerely,
&.ik., A. Xla; J Reba M. Diggs Facilities Program Coordinator License Fee Management Branch Office of Administration 1373 M5 7011200 P
