PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION March 19, 1979 PRELIMINARY ll0TIFICATION OF SAFEGUARDS EVENT--
PNS-79-22 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE national security or public interest sionificance.
The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

Subject:
B0MB THREAT On fiarch 17,1979, at 4:00 p.m., a telephonic threat from an unknown male caller was received at the fossil plant located next to the nuclear unit.
The individual said "there is.a bomb planted at your nuclear plant and its going off at 12 tonight." All vital areas were than searched for any device with no positive results.
The plant was in a hot shutdown at the time of the threat.
The licensee has notified the FBI and local authorities.
The State of Florida has been notified.
No press release has been made by the licensee or Regional Office.
No media interest is anticipated.
The IAT has been notified.
Region II (Atlanta) received notification of this occurrence by telephone from licensee shift supervisor at 4:40 p.m., ori March 17, 1979.
