On September 20, 1979, a report was made under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e) concerning an appare;)t casting defect in the shaft bearing houting for tile North Anna Unit 3 Auxiliary Feed Pump Motor 3AF-P2A.

Description of defect, deficiency, or failure to comply:

Oil leakage from a motor housing led to an investigation t..c. showed a defect in the casting for the lcwer reser-voir of shaf't drive end bearing on motor 3AF-P2A.

Visual inspection of three other similar motors shows a possible defect in North Anna Unit 4 motors 4AF-P2A and 4AF-P28.
