ILLINotS 60137 SEP 2 41979 Docket No. 50-341 The Detroit Edison Company ATTN: Mr. Edward Hines, Assistant -; Vice President and Manager Quality Assurance Gentlemen: Thank you for your letter dated August 31, 1979, informing us of the steps you have taken to correct the noncompliance identified in our letter of July 31, 1979. On September 19, 1979, additional information was obtained during a telephone conversation between Mr. H. A. Walker of your staff and Mr. F. Jablonski of this office, relative to your actions to preclude further noncompliance. It is our understanding you will perform audits of selected site contractors to assure that prior to close out, all corrective actions (completed dispositions) to Deviation Disposition Requests (DDRs) are verified by inspection. Further, a suitable frame of time (30-60 days) shall pass before performing the audits. We will examine your corrective action during a future inspection. Sincerely, Jb N James G.
