, 4. a. No problems were noted during startup concerning these four pumps.

b. We test each of these pumps each month by:
1. demonstrating operability (motor start and discharge pressure)
2. taking fibration readings and comparing to baseline and previous (velocity)

Also, on a regular ba.,is, C & S Maintenance Consultants, Inc.,

take acceleration readings and do a spectrum analysis on problem areas.

Integrated hour readings are obtained shiftly for each pump. No abnormal maintenance problems have been noted to date.

5. a. Operational Problems:

The only operational problem was decreased discharge pressure (coupled with high vibration) which was corrected by removal of four pieces of wood from the intake by divers.

b. Repair Efforts:

RWP2A

 • Replace packing once Remove wood frorr. intake once RWP2B
 • Rplace packing three times Tighten packing once Remove wood once (same as RWP2A)

RWP3A

 • Replace Packing twice Tighten packing once Unstop drain line once RWP3B
 • Replace packing once
 • Packing is replaced with 2 rings 1/2" #1625
6. a. Trouble free intervals: RWP2A 20 months RWP2B 9 months RWP3A 15 months RWP3B 18 months
b. Approximate integrated hours on pump for this interval:

RWP2A 3792 hours0.0439 days
1.053 hours
0.00627 weeks
0.00144 months
RWP2B 954 hours0.011 days
0.265 hours
0.00158 weeks
3.62997e-4 months
RWP3A 3800 hours0.044 days
1.056 hours
0.00628 weeks
0.00145 months
-

c. Once per month each pump is run for approximately one hour or more for an operability check and to acquire vibration-velocity readings.
d. Since all of these pumps are seawater pumps, they do not have a retire. mode and the test load is the same as an inservice load.
e. The longest continuous operation for any one of these pumps is one month. Surveillance Precedures require swapping of normal and backup units for operational checks.
f. The only time one of these pumps have not been available has been when it was tagged out to perform one of the items listed under item Sb, or for C & S Consultants, Inc. , to do special tests.

The additional information requested to be made available at the site is contained in our plant records and microfilm files for your review.
