- 1. Description of the Deficiency:
An investigation by Bechtel revealed factory weld separation on Unistrut Part No. P1001 material. .This material, back-to-back welded P1001., was discovered to have a factory weld separation from its parent naterial.
II.
Available Information:
hechtel Project test Engineering performed a statistical analysi:, of the weld results and determined that a resintance weld shear test program was needed. Addit ionally, other name brand st rut for weld separation problems. Tests material is being evaluated are scheduled to bet;in July 19, 1978.
111. Final Report Statement:
MPt.1, will make a final report of this deficiency by Nover.ber 15, 1978.
Details of the corrective action taken will be documented in Bechtel's Management Cerrective Action Report (MCAR) No. GGNS-39.
