Interim Report for Potential Significant Deficiency as Defined in 10CFR50.55(e)
Number 78/01 AECM-78/13 Mississippi Power 6 Light Company is continuing its program for
(
assurance at the Crand Culf Nuclear upgrading construction qualit)
Station by (1) internally identifying any deficiencies that may exist in construction, and (2) correcting these deficiencies before they could af fect safe operation of the plant.
As part of this effort, we are investigating why an incomplete set of radiographs of an ASME Class 1 Check Valve were delivered by our supplier, Atwood & Morrill Company.
We reported this item to Mr. A. R. lierdt and Mr. J. J. Blake of your of fice on Fobruary 6,1978, and explained that 'it may be reportable under 10CFR50.'. (e).
Further investigation has revealed that other valves from the Atwood & Morrill Company were also delivered to us with incomplete radiographic documen-tation. However, the radiographic coverage of these valves was complete.
We will continue this investigation and determine reportability under 10CFR50.55(e) by May 15, 1978.
