SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1 AND 2 - DELAY OF REACTOR TRIP BECAUSE OF ARCING ACROSS UNDERFREQUENCY RELAY CONTACTS - NCR EEB 79 SECUhD INTERIM REPORT The subject deficiency was initially reported to NRC-01E Inspector F. S. Cantrell on August 2,1979, in accordance with 10 CFR 50.55(e).
An interim report was submitted on August 27, 1979. We expect to submit our next report before fuel loading in unit 1.
TVA is investigating the possibility of installing diodes across each of the four auxiliary relay coil terminals.
It has not been determined if this corrective action is suitable because of trip signal time requirements.
