and operation of nuclear power plants has been referred to me for reply.

Your suggestions will be considered by a task force ("The TMI-2 Lessons Learned i
Task Force") formed early this sumer in the NRC Office of Nuclear Reactor Reg-ulation. The nurpose of the task force is to identify and evaluate those safety concerns originating with the TMI-2 accident that regt. ire licensing actions for operating reactors as well as for pending operating license and construction pemit applications. The task force has recently issued a report, NUREG-0578, "THI-2 Lessons Learned Task Force Status Report and Short-Term Recomendations,"
which may be of interest to you. A copy of this report is attached. Several t
l of the short-term recomendations and future work by the Lessons Learned Task Force relate to your area of expressed interest.
