%,..V JUL 2 71979 Docket Nos. 50-463 and 50-464 The Honorable Robert S. Walker United States House of Representatives Washington, D. C. 20515
Dear Congressman Walker:
This responds to your letter of July 10, 1979 to Chairman Hendrie concerning the resolution of the Martic Township Supervisors dated June 4, 1979 expressing opposition to an early site review for the Fulton Generating Station.
It would be inappropriate for Chairman Hendrie to reply directly since he may be called upon to review the rulings and decisions of the Atomic Safety and Lic2nsing Board before which the Fulton application is now pending. Accordingly, your letter was referred to me for reply.
The staff has given careful consideration to the views expressed in the resolution of the Martic Township Supervisors, and a copy of our response to the Supervisors is enclosed for your information. At such time as the application for early site review is accepted for docketing, we shall, in our detailed review, pay particular attention to the issues addressed in the resolution.
We note your concern and your opposition to siting a nuclear plant in Lancaster County.
In accordance with your request, we shall notify you in the event that the Fulton application is accepted for docketing.
Sincerely, (Signed) Lee V. Gossick Lee V. Gossick Executive Director for Operations
Enclosure:
Ltr Martic Township Supervisors fm Harold Denton dated 7/25/79 941 ggg 7909110[6@
